Click here to start helping animals for less than $.50 cents a day In some countries, armed dog control officers randomly shoot dogs in crowded streets. If not killed instantly, the dogs end up wounded and left to die. Shooting, drowning, hanging, and electrocution are just some of the ways countries, particularly those ravaged by war, famine or political upheaval, use to control stray dog populations. Not only are these methods barbaric, they prove ineffective as the stray dog numbers continue to increase around the world. With your help, we can fight the bloodshed. WSPA is already providing much needed mobile clinics fitted with equipment and medical supplies, so dogs receive proper care in rural communities. We're also educating governments and owners on practical solutions like sterilization training and compulsory registration. But as you can imagine, there's so much more to be done.By donating $14 a month to the World Society for the Protection of Animals, you can become a member of the Animal Rescue Team and help save stray dogs and other animals from cruelty.Giving each month is important because it takes time, money and persistence to lobby governments to achieve legislation that outlaws the cruelty of animals. It helps build and establish sanctuaries to rehabilitate the animals you help rescue, and change attitudes to animal welfare through education of children and communities. What’s more, we need your support to help answer urgent calls for acts of such cruelty around the world. So for less than $.50 cents a day you can start saving these animals. well, the one snag of course is that if you want to send that letter, you need an address somewhere in CA and a zip code (you can look that up on the Internet!)

Here's a really EASY way to fax opposition to SB250. Won't cost you a thing except a couple of minutes and ALL committee members will get your fax. Please send this on far and wide.

---PLEASE cross-post/forward. ---

Yesterday, SaveOurDogs. net set up a system so you can fight SB 250 without
breaking a sweat (and yes, I have noticed it's 100 degrees out.)

Californians can register your opposition to this draconian mandatory
spay/neuter bill, with one easy step.. Simply click on this link:* *

**

*http:/ **/
saveourdogs.. net/2009/ 07/13/assembly- appropriations- sb-250-easy- letter/*

Just enter your name and contact information in the form, press submit, and
an SB 250 opposition letter in your name will be faxed to all 16 Assembly
members who serve on the Appropriations Committee.

Please act immediately today (Tuesday July 14th) since the Appropriations
Committee is scheduled to hear SB 250 tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Highlights of SB 250:

***A dog running at large is a violation of various local animal control
laws.

Say you are out hunting with your dog, or you take your dog to the lake or
river for a swim, or you take the long line off after tracking, and throw
the ball as a reward... You have violated a local animal control law so your
local animal control agency revokes your intact permits -* and you must
surgically sterilize your dogs. *

**Take your dog to the local park for obedience and don't have his license
tags on his collar? Happen to be seen by an animal control officer? Doesn't
matter if your dog is the best-bred, best-trained dog in the state. You're
in trouble now.

*** Violate an animal control law even once and you may never be allowed to
own an intact dog ever again. One violation and your intact licenses can be
denied or revoked at any time, forever. *No one can have intact dogs ever
again under those conditions.*

***Your local Animal Control agency gets to charge an undetermined fee FOR
REVOKING your intact dog license (fee applies to EACH dog you own). Since
California's in such great financial shape, we probably shouldn't worry
about the million ways this can turn into a nightmare.

***Suppose your county unknowingly hires a PETA member as head of Animal
Control. In an effort to balance the budget, this person revokes and denies
all intact licenses, including yours, generating millions of dollars in
fines. He/She is fired six months later but it's too late, your dogs have
already been surgically sterilized. It's not possible to reattach the parts
even if they decide to give you back your licenses. A century or more of
thoughtful, loving dedication to a breed standard - honed to the best of the
best, that you happen to own? Gone like smoke through a keyhole.

How can you stop the madness? Go to

Save Our Dogs will do the rest.
